Ernesto Cardozo MD - Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Dr. Cardozo received his medical degree from Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Senora del Rosario in Bogota Colombia in 1977. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, Mexico City in 1983.
Dr. Cardozo was certified in Medical Acupuncture in 2003 and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Puerto Rico in June 2004.
Gary A. Robertson, DC - Chiropractic Physician - Head of the Miami Back Institute
Dr. Robertson graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1989 with honors in research. He has over 16 years experience in the treatment of back pain and received the 1992, Chiropractor of the Year award from Chiropractic Biophysics Seminars, a non-profit research foundation.
Dr. Robertson has published numerous scientific articles in the medical literature and is a contributing author in several medical text books. He is an international lecturer on biomechanics, neurology, soft-tissue injury and repair, and chiropractic technique.
Dr Robertson has experience in treating a wide variety of conditions including; chronic back and neck pain, herniated discs and sciatica, headaches, whiplash injuries and postural dysfunction.
Dr. Gary Robertson has been elected as the new President of the Dade County Chiropractic Society (DCCS).The DCCS is a local chapter of the Florida Chiropractic Association and serves the chiropractors of Miami-Dade and South Broward Counties
Michele Gust RPT, CSCS, CES
Michele Gust, RPT, CSCS, CES has been a licensed Physical Therapist in Miami for 11 years. She has worked with a wide variety of neurological conditions, such as Traumatic Brain Injuries, Multiple Sclerosis, Strokes, Paralysis, and ALS, as well as the full array of orthopedic dysfunctions, from sports injuries to joint replacements to arthritis and chronic pain. She has worked with a number of professional athletes from basketball players to tennis players following sports injuries and surgeries. Her background working for Baptist Hospital, Health South in Coral Gables and private practice, has made her very well rounded and an expert in her field
As a Manual Therapist, she focuses on a hands-on approach to rehab. She has also been a Pilates Instructor and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist for over 6 years, and has helped numerous people get back into their preinjury shape! Being a Physical Therapist, she ensures their workouts will not only strengthen and protect the injury, but prevent reoccurance, which so often happens at the gym with or without personal trainers. Through Pilates instruction, she has helped numerous pre and post partum women to strengthen their core and minimize back pain as a result of poor posture, weakness, and the added weight put on them through pregnancy.
Being a Certified Ergonomics Specialist, she helps educate both employers and employees in the workplace on how to minimize stress and strain on the body. Injury prevention is the key to being more productive at work, which in turn saves the company thousands of dollars per year. During a consultation, she not only identifies problem areas in the employees' workstations but offers a plan to modify and correct the problems. Michele is available for lectures and group classes to educate on common work-related injuries and how to minimize stress and strain on the body.
